Louisiana Fallen Firefighter's Memorial Ceremony
To remember and recognize those who have perished protecting us from fire, the 2012 Fallen Firefighter Memorial Ceremony will be held March 10th, 2012 at 10:30am at the Louisiana State Fallen Firefighter's Memorial on the grounds of the State Fire Marshal's Office.

Baskin Robbins Honors Fallen Firefighters

Help your neighborhood raise money for YOUR local fire service organization during Baskin-Robbins 31 Cent Scoop Night. For the 5th annual event, Baskin-Robbins is partnering with National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation will donate $100,000 to the non-profit organization. Locally, Baskin-Robbins is providing an opportunity for firefighters and store owners to come together for an event of fun, smiles and fundraising for local fire service organizations.
On Wednesday, April 27th, 2011, Baskin-Robbins stores across the country will hold 31 Cent Scoop Night from 5-10 pm to honor America's firefighters. Baskin-Robbins will reduce prices of small ice cream scoops to 31 cents and create an opportunity for customers to donate to local fire charities. State Income Tax Reduction for Volunteer Firefighters
The form below is provided as certification that volunteer firemen are eligible for the Louisiana State Tax Reduction per Act 458 of the 2007 Legislative Regular Session which was introduced by Representative Marchand and provides a $500-a-year state income tax deduction to those who serve at least 30 hours a year as registered volunteers for recreation departments and for certified volunteer firefighters.
The completed forms should be faxed to the Louisiana Department of Revenue at (225) 231-6238.

Fireman's Fund Katrina Relief Fund Request for Proposal
On behalf of Fireman's Fund Insurance Company (Fireman's Fund®), I am pleased to invite your department to participate in a special Request for Proposal (RFP) designed to support fire departments rebuilding in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Grants will be awarded for needed equipment, supplies and community education programs. An advisory committee comprised of representatives from Fireman's Fund and leaders in the fire service will be providing guidance on how funds will be distributed. Fireman's Fund has made a commitment of $278,400 to assist departments in areas impacted by Hurricane Katrina. These funds are in addition to the $1 million donation already made by Allianz, the parent company of Fireman's Fund, which have already supported programs designed to address immediate human needs after Hurricane Katrina struck.

Volunteers make up the vast majortity of all emergency service personnel nationwide. Over the last 10 years, that number has steadily decreased leaving our communities, your community vulnerable.
